Cameo Auctioneers – Update

cameo auctions fraudulent company

cameo auctions fraudulent company

Cameo Auctioneers still at large ripping off customers and consignors. We recently been told that they appeared on the BBC program The Sheriffs Are Coming. Once again Cameo Auctioneers not paying consignors and many memorabilia going missing.

Also after so many complaints The Saleroom have also stopped dealing with Cameo. Now they have to move to EasyLiveAuction.com due to this. The-Saleroom is where Cameo and most auction houses receive their custom. Finally this is another nail in the coffin for Cameo’s crooks: Jon King, Glenn Norcliff etc

These complaints are coming in each day about this fraudulent company. We also know VISA are dealing with them due to taking money from customers who last bought something over a year ago. Cameo have kept all bank details from previous customers.

They also appeared in The Sunday Mail [The Judge] about not paying a customer who was owed over £3500. We contacted The Sunday Mail after hearing about this and gave them more information about other customers having problems with Cameo. You can contact The Judge at: thejudge@sundaymail.co.uk please include your name, details and phone number.

We were told that items were also given to the police that Cameo believed they were given that were forgeries. We contacted their local police station and they didn’t know anything about this, so again what have they been doing with people’s belongings?

Hopefully this will be Jon King, Glenn Norcliff and the rest of the con artists from Cameo Auctioneers.

Here is a picture of the disgusting man Jon King of Cameo. This is the crook who owes thousands and thousands of pounds to innocent buyers and consignors.

PAAS Authentication – Kicked off eBay for Questionable Authentication

It is estimated that approximately 800 listings were wiped out, and less than a dozen remained. eBay sellers reported that all of their PAAS autographs were removed except those also certified by other third-party authenticators. Sellers were told they would face possible suspension if they attempted to list them again.

Here is an email from eBay after a seller questioned why the item was removed:

Why were the listings for my autographed items ended?
- We received reports regarding the authenticity of the autographs in your listings. Please be aware that we regularly receive such reports from rights owners, law enforcement officials and members of the eBay community. These reports were not the determining factor for why your listings were removed but they were taken into consideration.

PAAS and Mike Frost have finally been caught out. Sadly years after making thousands and thousands of Authenticating Non Authentic items.

Cameo Auctions/Auctioneers Fraud

cameo auctioneers fraud beware

cameo auctioneers fraud beware

Sadly Aftal Member AuthenticateIt is still working with Cameo auctioneers authenticating for the company whom they had to take to court for payment and the same company who owes out thousands of pounds to their consigners.

Aftal are suppose to work with the Police and Trading Standards so how can they still work for a fraudulent company like Cameo Auctioneers. Who people in the auction business know what Cameo are up to??? Yes we have been told from many clients and in the business people that Jon King and the rest of them in Cameo are keeping sellers  money and are going to do a runner……………

This is getting more true each day as thousands of innocent peoples money is not being paid to them and being kept by these con men.

______________________________________________________

If you have consigned to Cameo and are having problems please contact us or leave a message. We have, half a dozen people so far who are going to visit Cameo Auctioneers on one of their auction dates and going to contact the press as well so this can be highlighted to the general public…….. Cameo’s time is up!!!!!!!!!!

Cameo Auctioneers – Ripping off Auction Clients

cameo auctions fraudulent company

cameo auctions fraudulent company

We have been contacted again by different consigners & buyers about Cameo auctioneers. We did remove the last post but this time this one will not be removed unless all debts are paid.

Cameo have been contacted by the trading standards about the way they work and also about very questionable items they have sold over the years. The case has been closed though now a new case may be open regarding items that consigners have sent in.

Consigners have gave Cameo Auctioneers items to sell and once they’ve sold they hear nothing back from Cameo, even after numerous emails and phone calls (with messages left) still no reply.

Some of these items sold over 8 months ago. Trading standards have been contacted once again about this company as this is fraud on their part.

We are talking about thousands of pounds here and unsold items also never return after so many emails sent to their auction house at different email address.

Please BEWARE when dealing with Cameo and Glenn Norcliff (whom never returns calls, messages or emails).

Cameo Auctioneers have been taken to to Small Claims court for £3000 fees owe to an authenticator working for them. The authenticator had to take couth action to get money owed to them since Cameo would not respond. (Cameo settled court action)

Another Small Claims has been made now for sellers fees up to £3700 which has been owed now for 9 months, once again Cameo don’t respond to message and have kept this persons items that belong to them. (Case awaits response/payment)

UPDATE:

Latest defector is an employer of theirs who has had his pay cheques bounced by them. Gone to work for another auction house that used to be their immediate neighbour. Ask them about how many people coming in asking for their money and not getting paid.

As a previous vendor I am out (minus) approx £350, plus two items £150 they say did not receive.

(Previous consigner of Cameo)

Now selling items that don’t belong to them. Previous seller who is owed thousands has asked for months and months for there items to be returned and Cameo never reply nor return items or pay what is owed. This company is committing daylight fraud.

——————————————————————-

Latest News:

It appears they have gone under! Contacted the saleroom as they have charged my card twice and they have done this to several other people. No one is answering the door or picking up the phone at Cameo so if you have goods left with them then I would try getting them back as soon as possible.

Latest: One woman owed over £6000 and Cameo never responses to calls. They appeared in the Sunday Mail about ripping off another lady.

If you have problems I would contact the reporter from Sunday Mail. Go to Sunday Mail website, Contact the Judge and when writing a message us FAO: Jane Barrie.

Shame for the many customers who have had their items stolen by Cameo and owed thousands of pounds by these con men.

CONTACT TRADING STANDARDS IF YOUR HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CAMEO. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN THE BETTER CHANCE SOMETHING GETS DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY AS INVESTIGATIONS ARE CURRENTLY IN PROCESS.

Here’s a pic of their newest member Steve Borkowski, another man involved in the Cameo scamming.

Fake John Lennon autograph described as his last!!!!!

The IADA/CC Published a write up about an autograph which was described as John Lennon’s last autograph. It was also authenticated by Darren Julien, President and CEO of Julien’s Auctions and was due for auction.

The autograph belonged to Ron Hummel, the producer who recorded and assisted with Lennon’s last interview on December 8, 1980. Julien Auctioneers says the autograph could sell for as much as $40,000, though some believe the price could go even higher.

We believe this to be a forgery. If you look at genuine examples obtained on that day this appears nothing like an authentic example.

PAAS and ebay member robertbjones

It has come to our attention that PAAS have been authenticating very very questionable items that are being sold through ebay by member robertbjones.

A few collectors have written to us about this matter in the last couple of days about the amount of signed items being sold and passed as authentic.

GAI – Authentication

News given by one dealer:

I am writing this guide with the hope of educating someone thinking about buying sports memorabilia that is Autographed. Please beware of GAI authenticated stuff. GAI (Global Authentication Inc) went out of business in 2009. Prior to that it was said to be one of the big 5 in sports Authentication. GAI was actually founded by a founder of PSA that left that company. In the beginning of GAI’s existence it was a very highly reputable company. It was actually harder to get a signature authenticated by GAI than PSA/DNA.  Unfortunately along the way GAI made some bad financial decisions. It is then when an unscrupulous authenticator from GAI began authenticating garbage. Beware of certs with Mike Bakers name on it. Now the market is flooded with Mike Baker GAI certified stuff that is fraudulent. I was at a card show last month and inquired about a Mantle/May’s autographed 8×10.  It was authenticated by GAI. I told the dealer that I was going to buy it and run over to the PSA/DNA booth to cross authenticate. He told be it was an as is sale and there would be no refund. To my surprise i see the same photograph here on ebay for $49. Like I said at one point GAI was reputable, and their stuff from the early days is legit, but the vast majority of their later authentication is garbage.
One other thing. Like I said earlier, GAI is no longer in existence. IF you go to their previous website it redirects to a different website and a new company called Global Authority. To make things even more complicated a separate company unaffiliated to Global Authority,  Global Authentics LLC  has sprung up. It is supposedly led by the former head of Upper Deck’s Player Relations. The jury is out on this new company. Global Authentics LLC  provides legacy GAI CertCheck data as a courtesy to GAI’s customers but has no affiliation with GAI or the new Global Authority.  Why they would offer this service if they are not affiliated with the old GAI is beyond me. Please use due diligence when buying an autograph. Unless you witnessed the player signing, you will have to rely on a third party to say it is legit or not.

If you have any items authenticated by GAI we recommend that you seek further advice from other Authentication companies.
